die crack?

    A die crack would be raised, that looks more like a scratch on the coin.

    It looks more like a crack in the coin to me. I wonder if it didn't get damaged after someone dipped it (reprocessed?) in something.

    Closer, more detailed pictures would be helpful.

    Plus there's a lot happening on the rev.

    WHOA! Looks like that die was barely held together enough to strike.

    NOT a crack in the die that struck this coin-blank, but a crack in the coin that was struck. A die crack shows as a raised line on the coin, or as a "ridge" if the die on one side of the crack begins to sink under repeated blows.
