Hello I have two 1976 error link and since both appear to be silver here’s a picture of one of them any idea what it’s worth thanks
There are several ways to make a cent look silver. It was done after the coin left the US mint. That makes it an altered coin and worth one cent. We see a lot of these posted on CT. Thanks for posting. Wish we had better news.
They look like they may have been plated after they left the mint. Plating cents has been a common science experiment in school chemistry classes for decades. They are not errors. There are an almost unlimited number of ways a coin can get damaged after it leaves the mint. Don't assume anything unusual is an error (they usually aren't). After you've determined it's an error, then you can worry about the value. BTW, most authentic errors found in change have minimal added value. Hope this helps
No.. Worth? 1 Cent Suggestion.. There is a Error Coins forum here on CoinTalk. Create any future error questions there. First figure out what you have. Worry about value last. Most strange, odd and coin alterations are just damage. That does not increase the value of a coin.
