That is stunning. Mine has subtle rainbow iridescence across the back and hints of red and blue on the jacket, with gold over the hair. These two coins could hardly look more different.
Yours has the better strike on the obverse, or the strike was on newer dies. Both reverses are well struck and full of luster.
Picked these up yesterday. #1 exhibits strong double obverse die clashes near the mouth, neck, and back of cap (haven't been able to match it to a VAM though)
I have a friend who completed a high grade set of Twenty Cent Pieces toned like this quarter It was absolutely awesome.
@Hoky77- I'm just wondering and thinking out loud here. Would a real numismatist (and I'm not one), consider this coin toned? Or maybe it's just in the eye of the beholder.
