OK, so my bank job has paid off once again. Today, this older gentleman came in to cash in some coins. It was unique because there were a bunch of halves and some Ikes (I didn't care about the Ike's and gave them to customers later). But, once I looked closer...about 50% of the halves were silver! !! So, I cashed them in for him (inconspicuously setting the silver one's separate). Once he left, I sold them to another teller so I could withdraw them myself. I got a total of 15 40% Silver Kennedy's for face! No 90% coins...but a nice haul anyway. Here's the count: 1 - 1965 1 - 1966 7 - 1967 5 - 1968-D 1 - 1969-D
I think you are going to get into trouble for this one from somem members here personally i would say you picked some nice stuff.
Hey man, niiiice! I think people are cashing in stuff to cover gas prices now, might be a good time to really keep an eye out. Nice! :thumb: Phoenix
I agree, Your going to get flamed, Keep this stuff quite. nice pull. I agree phoenix, I went to the bank today and got some 10 cent peices in search of the gas silver.
I don't see many coins worth mentioning at the bank. I try and pull of Wheaties if I see them...and I've grabbed a couple war nickels and a silver quarter during the last 6 months...but this was a very unusual find. I was really surprised. Actually, my paper currency collection is what has really taken off because of this job. I make posts all the time in the paper forum like this.
Nice finds. And yeah, paper money seems to be way easier to find than older coins. Except for Jeffersons, those are pretty easy to find pre-1960.
Nice find for face value. I'm just starting to ask for rolls of halves, so hopefully I'll have some success stories to pass along soon myself. Congrats on some great coins.
Hey, now, isn't this nice. No ridiculous postings accusing Richie of ripping off some old timer. Congrats, Richie. Nice haul.
