Has anyone had problems with the adhesive Mylar 2x2’s? I have always used the staple type in the past but the self-sealing ones seem like a lot less hassle. I am a little skeptical about having glue that close to my coins so I figured I would ask for some opinions.

Not a good idea - you're right about the glue ;)

Not to mention the fact they DON'T stayed sealed as heat and cold takes its toll on the glue. I receive lots of coins from Europe in self sealing 2X2's and within a year I am stapling them back together. Not a wise investment!

The mylar windows seem a lot thinner on the self sealing ones. I had a few heavy coins fall right out through the window!

BTW, it is not just the glue as such, but also the fumes from the glue. Those could do as much damage as the glue itself.

These self sealing ones are common (maybe even universal) in Europe, but they are not advisable in my opinion. If it could be proven that the glue were somehow inert, then that would be fine, but I thin the fact that it stays sticky means there are some nasty chemicals in there.
