I got lucky and found my coin. I’m guessing it was a pocket piece before it was lost. Man was I a happy camper when I found it!
Geeeez Randy, what's that make me ? I had the hobbies, and was out in bars and chasing wild women - all at the same time Now I could on, but, as they say, sometimes it's better to leave some things unsaid
Seems you missed some of my previous comments - - that's how I spent them. AND, ya also need to stop and think for a minute, particularly about the dates involved. Ya see, those $1400 coins - they weren't always $1400. That 2002 AGE, I paid just a couple dollars over $300 for that coin. The previous examples, in the same neighborhood.
My wife says I'm nuts for buying a coin worth a few hundred. If she knew what I've paid for other coins in my collection I can only guess what she'd say. I probably need to be committed. Lol
The only time it's a problem is when you're in a room and realize that you are the only nut. I avoid those types of situations myself.
We're not really crazy anymore. We were crazy 40 years ago but since that time the aliens have appended aspects of an alternate universe to this universe. So now we are not only normal but are viewed by most people as rock stars.
You mention, 40 years ago. When I was kid 9 or 10 and came home from a LCS and showed my dad what I bought. He gave me that look and said: YOU PAID HOW MUCH FOR THAT NICKEL???
My dad supplied my collection from his collection after silver coinage started disappearing from circulation. If I did a good job around the house he gave me a silver coin to plug one of my holes.
Yes, it really gave me an incentive to do good and help him around the house. I also learned a lot of other things at the time but I didn't realize that until later in life. I still have the drive to collect, like a full grown nut case. Lol
