I'd say AU. I was thinking MS at first, but there is some wear in areas other than the high areas. But, still a nice coin. Guy~
AU- the sctraches on the obverse and the various marks on the reverse minizmie the grade. Great coin to have, none the less!
greetings! i agree w/ the au grade and would probably go to 55. this is one of the few pics (in my opinion) which actually reflects breaks in the frost on the regions of the hair high points and above the ear on the obverse, as well as the on the breast, left wing, and rim on the reverse. this is only my opinion based on the pics. nice coin and thank you for sharing! best wishes, steve
WOW, I think this one will put me out on the limb. I think the marks on the Obverse look like bag marks. These could be easily seen as scratches if not magnified. The only appearance of wear looks to be on the leaf above the cotton ball. I think this is also a bag mark as I do not see any of the obvious areas of wear on the Obverse. 1880-O were weakly struck causing the appearances as shown. IMO if you see wear, you will see a smearing effect as the melt as blends together and number of high points looking shiney with most luster in those areas missing. The Reverse looks normal with early signs of toning. Now don't shoot me but I think it is a MS-63 as seen. This coin really needs to be seen in person to give a truely accurate grade. The Reverse makes this coin tough to grade IMO. All that being said this is a very nice looking coin.
I kept looking and re-looking at the pics. I think MS, but combined with others opinions, I'll say "slider AU"
