image.jpg Just opened a roll of nickels and these popped out. If it’s toning it’s damn ugly! What do you make of it?

yep. After looking at them it appears to be toning and not schmutz. Some are pink some a little different. All sorts of dates. From a 1952s to a 2018D. Must be a collection simp.

finishing up 1 box and starting another. Nice so far.... 2 war nickels. 1 dateless buffalo 1 1952 S. 1 1954S 1 1969S and a nicely toned 2016P. Also finding quite a few 2019 P with doubling on the date.minor but noteworthy.

I'll occasionally will variety hunt through a bucket of War Nickels at the LCS, and I see many nickels like your minty fresh coin...worth melt at that point. It is amazing how dirty the silver nickels get though. My fingers get dingy fast going through the bucket. And I'm mainly sorting out the XF coins to check.

Absolutely insane hunt! I would head back to that bank first thing and ask for another box! Maybe you caught the beginning half of a collection dump and the bank has the second half of that dump!

Sadly it was their last box . She was hesitant to sell it to me, but she checked her station stock and decided she would sell it to me.
