Hello I picked this 1955 set today from a flea market, and had a few questions. Would this be a proof set? Also note the goldish color of the nickel. Is this normal? What would the value of this set be. The envelope it came in was open however the cellophane pack is sealed. Also I have a factory sealed 1956 set as well. Does it have any value as well?

May I ask how much it cost?

Yes it's a proof set. It says so on the bottom left corner of the envelope. $45 to $50.

    40$ for the 1955
    38$ for the 1956

Also they have 3 more for the same price there.

Sorry I was looking at the 56 set. The 55 set is worth roughly twice that.

The quarter and nickel look very nice. If the quarter has cameo and is high enough grade, it will easily cover the cost of the entire set.

The coins would be worth a considerable amount more as individual pieces as opposed to the set.
