    Wow, I had no idea that they were that expensive even in low grades. I know I got mine for less than $100 (maybe around $80) a little over 20 years ago or so. I wonder what grade my 1878-S is. Maybe Fine?

Trade looked ok in pics. Not in person. With a loupe I saw copper showing through. I think a contemporary counterfeit silver plated weight was 26.2 too light. Lafayette was ok but cleaned on reverse I bought neither

    No, your coin is at least EF. Maybe AU?

    EDIT: Well now I'm not so sure, after looking at some of the slabbed coins here. Mine was an EF40. I thought yours looked close to mine. @Mainebill would know.
