It was before I sold it to buy something else.

 

This is the coin I got after I sold the 1880, It's a lower grade but it has better eye appeal.

 

Beautiful proof trade dollar. I don't have any proofs, just some run of the mill circs.

 

Trade dollars without chop marks are boring.

Wow, I had no idea that they were that expensive even in low grades. I know I got mine for less than $100 (maybe around $80) a little over 20 years ago or so. I wonder what grade my 1878-S is. Maybe Fine?

EDIT: Well now I'm not so sure, after looking at some of the slabbed coins here. Mine was an EF40. I thought yours looked close to mine. @Mainebill would know.
