Hey did two becuse one i just was showing color differences between the two but if your talk about the 1974 penny/cent i also wanted info on it plus i get diffrent people giving answers or thoughts on coins and everyone sees something diffrent in picture like a line in the s there is no line i even used my eye piece again no line so no harm in two right
the 74S looks like the color a copper penny will change when exposed to acid...either naturally occurring in the environment or when someone is torturing a penny trying to get information out of it.
I'M SO SORRY I POSTED THE TWO TRENDS OF COINS I GUESS MY PICTURES ARE BAD AND MY TITLE WAS WRONG AND THAT I USED WHAT SOMEONE SAID AS AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT PEOPLE SEE. I DO SOMETIMES AS IM THINKING WHAT TO ASK OR SAY. I THINK IT BUT DONT ALWAYS TYPE IT.
Trisia , The 74S has die deterioration doubling ( no extra value )you can see at the top of the word "TRUST", especially in the 'T's. The S mint mark seems to be normal, a little bit of a small die chip in the bottom loop, making them appear connected, maybe that was the line you refer to. Both appear normal for their age. When you get to know the people here there are some grumpy, but if you like coins and want to learn you will be happy here. Education is referred to just giving a short answer, and many have been bitten in the rear by those who just want a fast answer and head for Etsy or EBay. Spend some time if you are interested. There are several real experts here, but we need good photos to be correct. Jim
Thanks for anser i have another thread with better pictures of the 74. Also the #4 cant tell if mint or circulation issue if you want to look at them
