Found on Coinsweekly. A little course for burglary beginners. But do not FORGET :

    1) put on a mask.
    2) get slimmer (it will be easier to enter the store).
    3) bring a hammer to destroy the counter or you’re gonna cut yourself.
    4) bend your knees idiot or you’ll hurt your back.
    5) and please, PLEASE smile to the camera !

CU had a thread about this, then it got locked.

They thought this coin store was Julian Leidman's, and I think they were right.

Robbery prevention 101: lock up your coins at night like everyone else! I feel bad for them. Hopefully it was all cheap bullion.

I would have loved to have been in a dark corner with a shotgun.

Just imagine wiring a hot open circuit between a conductive floor mat and a tempting coin left in the case each evening and letting a greedy burglar close the circuit while trying to remove the coin . . . ouch!

Not nice, but I can fantasize, can't I?

Wow, he has a lot of high end stuff. Fortunately, I don't think any of it would be left out in a glass case overnight. I frequently disagree with his grades and prices, but I don't think he's an idiot.

If it was Julian's shop, trust that what he leaves in his cases overnight is carefully chosen to serve a specific purpose.

With the neck tattoos on the back of his neck, shouldn't take long before this criminal is apprehended over something else and linked to this robbery.

Note to criminals: facial and neck tattoos are stupid given your line of work. Might as well tattoo on your forehead "Arrest Me".

For sure. All the good stuff is probably in a really good, heavy jewelry safe, or in a bank box. Like I said, I disagree with some of his business practices, but he's not dumb enough to leave anything good out there. If it were me, I'd leave a bunch of certified ASEs and similar low end stuff. That way, there'd be a hope of tracing serial numbers, similar to what happened with Rob Gronkowski's proof Morgans.

I got one thing to say no surprise about the robber. If I say any more I’d get in trouble

And bring a heavy bag. Don't rely on the victim to supply carrying cases. That plastic grocery bag can't handle the heavy coins. He probably left more than half what he tried to steal at the door.

Morons are all over the world !

Near where I live, some years ago a guy intending to break the bank showed himself as a customer in for a withdrawal, to which the tenant asked for his ID...and he showed it before his criminal act.

Guess what, the police was at his door before him

Everytime I recall that I'm nearly dead laughing

He’s very likely a desperate addict trying to feed an opioid addiction. Narcotics addiction is an epidemic. Still, he needs to be held accountable.

I read a story a while back from Chicago that this idiot doing a drive by accidentally shot his getaway driver too. Who was declared brain dead a couple days later. Personally I think they were both brain dead long before
