(Sorry if this is a repost.) Once again, numismatics has been used to help shed light on ancient history. In this case, the evidence has been used for attributing a road to Pontius Pilate. They found Agrippa I coins above the pavement - how can they say there are none beneath it, too (unless they've lifted every stone along the 600-meter road and looked)?
