Numismatics May Confirm Pontius Pilate Road

    Once again, numismatics has been used to help shed light on ancient history. In this case, the evidence has been used for attributing a road to Pontius Pilate.

    To uncover an ancient stepped street in Jerusalem, Israeli archaeologists and engineers are building what resembles a subway tunnel under a Palestinian neighborhood.

    They found Agrippa I coins above the pavement - how can they say there are none beneath it, too (unless they've lifted every stone along the 600-meter road and looked)?
