That's a SUPERB clash. WOW! Very impressed. That might be worth a decent amount. Plus, congrats on cutting down on smoking. I used to smoke a bit (only 1 pack a MONTH). After I finished my last pack of Nat's menthols I haven't smoked since.
Wow.. Very Nice! If there is one example I'm sure there are more. Value for it has to do with grading and error appeal. I think it's great but don't expect hundreds for it. If it were my Dime I would send it to have attributed.
Awesome find. I will have to look at 1996 Mint Sets to see if I can find one. Collector coin errors are rare, since they get inspected more than business strikes.
Wow, that's an excellent find. I dream of finding an error in an uncirculated set, and that's a beaut! Edit: just checked mine, drat.
Thanks everyone for the feedback. I think this might turn out to be the first coin i ever send to be graded! It may not be super rare or a winning lottery ticket type of find but its still extremely cool and in great shape. I love it and that's all that matters. Everyone check your 1996 W Dimes you know if there is one error then theres more!
You can send any coin to get graded.. If it has a mint error orva variety you need you also need to send it for attribution. That is a separate fee from the graders.
This might be a pioneer coin for that error. I haven't heard of any of these with die clash before and am happy for you.
Contact Customer Service and ask. You want it labeled the "Discovery Coin" and "Mint Sealed Set" might give it some sizzle...
That's a very nice clash. One that strong should be worth a little extra. If you request it I'm sure it would be designated as a die clash. Due to associated costs it might be best to send it to ANACS or ICG. I personally would go with ICG.
Yeah im definitely interested in selling it but im not sure what its worth or anything like that so im not sure if i would sell immediately.
