Morgan dollar

    Can anyone tell me on the Morgan dollar, how do you tell the difference from the first, sencond and third reverse. I know the book says the parellel and slanted top feather, but I can't see it. tks

    If you have a red-book it sould have a photo...
    On the back of the coin the eagle is holding some arrows with feathers on the end and on the end with the feather one is slanted...

    Here ya go Beau - I made a big picture so you can see it ;)

    Morgan Varieties


    Look at the pic on the bottom left - see how the feathers on the top arrow are parallel with each other and the shaft of the arrow ?

    Now look at the picture at the bottom center - see how the feathers at the very top run at an angle and are not parallel with the others ?

    That's the difference ;)

    GDJMSB, I have the same picture in the same book. I can't tell which feather is the top feather and I can't tell which is parellel or slanted. Of the five feathers shown which is the top? That might help me. Thanks
