My Limes Denarius

    Sorry about the roughness looking of the coin, it was totally encrusted. tried soaking in distilled water, olive oil and other methods. finally I had to electrolysis. in the end it was a Plautilla. pl182.5.JPG pl182.50 (2).jpg
    Plautilla, AE Limes Denarius, 202-205 AD. PLAVTILLA AVGVSTA, draped bust right, hair waved and drawn down on neck / VENVS VICTRIX, Venus standing left, bare to waist, holding apple and palm, resting left elbow on shield, Cupid at her foot. RIC 369 Note; Cohen 26; RSC 26. 18mm, 2.5grams

    Any Plautilla is a good Plautilla - I think you did a good job cleaning it up. Here is one I got in a lot recently - I'm going to leave it alone, as I doubt I'd be able to improve it. Septimius Severus limes, broken:
