Does anyone know anything about either Westminster Mint or their subsidiary site, CoinOffer.com?? There seems to be fairly priced coins or even a few at great prices for ANACS, NGC and other slabbed coins pictured on their site. I had trouble ordering from them, often being advised by their phone rep that certain coins shown on their site were no longer available; yet the same coins remained as priced on site for up to six days hence. Well, the coins I wanted were 2008 W Silver Eagles with the 2007 Reverse, and the rep really pushed for a card number, saying he would use his "influence" to lock me in at "only $350.00 each" for "ANACS SP70 FIRST DAY OF ISSUE" eagle errors. This seemed too good to be true, considering my past ordering difficulty experiences, and also seeing prices for those error coins rising to over $700 each for the same issue on ebay! Anyone else had any experience with these people?? Some feedback would be deeply appreciated!!
I came across an ad for the Westminster Mint a few months ago when gold was about $1000/oz. They had a 1/10 oz Gold Eagle for $90 with free shipping. They also had 2 rolls of the Presidential $25 dollar rolls with the 'P' and 'D' mints for $50 with free shipping. I bought both the 1/10 oz AGE and the 2 rolls of the dollars. They charged my credit card, then called me and left a message. I was busy and never called them back for 2-3 weeks and the items never shipped. I finally called them and a week later they shipped. They actually didn't do a hard sell when I called them. They asked me what I collected, then offered me some "deals" that weren't any deals at all. I was expecting them to call me repeatedly since I think I gave them my phone number, but they have never called me back. Other than the long wait, I got exactly what they advertised, and it was a good deal. I probably saved $25-$35. I'd buy from them again if they offer any great deals. I wouldn't mind picking up an ASE 08/07 for $350.
Thanks! I appreciate your response, Mod. Those people are just hard as heck to communicate with, and they seem to take forever to ship, apparently, considering that you had to call to remind them! I sort of doubt, :headbang: duh, that I'll ever get my 08/07 reverse error for $350; unless of course the price falls below that ! Thanks again, and happy collecting!
