Tommy no need to apologies, you only done what you always have done try and help someone out. If they had of clicked on the 2 links I gave them in post #3 their question would of been answered.
I'm seeing it more and more coming in the forum, the newbies stirring it up...even after their question has been answered.
We can't fix stupid....I'm by no means an expert, never have claimed to be one even in the field I've worked in that I am!
But know for sure if I do reply my answer has been screened for error ,or backed by the correct reference,or references.
Just glad I'm on the way out... and not in..... that's for sure.

There are five different 83/2 dies each of which has the 2 in a different place.. But one key thing is the date logotype on the 1883 is considerably wider than the logotype on the 1882. So the FIRST thing to look for is, Is it an 1883 logotype? MOST of the 1883/2 nickels on the market are 1882's with the "heavy 2". They do not have the 1883 logotype.

I am not sure why these would be credited to Google images. Perhaps you found them with a Google image search?

The correct attribution is my website at www.shieldnickels.net
