[Ancients] Let’s have another coin game my friends... I will need 4 volunteers

Two years ago I hosted a “guess the CoinTalker” game that turned out to be a lot of fun. For those who weren’t around then or don’t remember please check out the old master thread for an overview of how the game works: [Ancients] Curtisimo’s Epic Holiday Giveaway Game 2017!

I will be throwing in at least one prize coin and possibly more this year to keep it interesting (those details still to be decided).

Just like the previous game I will need the help of 4 regular contributing CoinTalk ancients members that don’t mind not being eligible to win a prize. (Though hopefully will still have fun commenting and posting on the threads!) The object of the game will be to match an anonymous coin with its owner and participants who guess will be eligible to win.

From the 4 volunteer CT members I would need the following;

1. A high resolution photo of a coin from your collection that you have never previously posted on CoinTalk. (Sent by PM please ).
2. A brief description (a paragraph or less) of why you like the coin and why you decided to add the coin to your collection! (also by PM)

In the next week or two I will post a master thread containing this year’s rules in detail and we can get started. If you are interested in helping out please send me a PM and let me know.

Update: we have 1 volunteer so far and another who has volunteered to step in as needed

In addition @Ryro has generously offered up an additional prize coin from his collection to add to the game. You’re my boy blue!

I’m looking forward to hosting another game. This should be fun!

Edit to add: no need to send me the coin and write up immediately if you want to volunteer. It will be a few days before the master thread posts so you will have some time to choose your coin and take photos if needed.

The last “guess the CoinTalker” game was a blast, and I thoroughly enjoyed being a volunteer. I'll keep my hand down this time, though, if only so that I can play on the other side of the field this year.

 

I have posted most if not all of my acquisitions over the past two years (April 2017) since I joined Cointalk. Great idea for a contest, though.

Okay I would like to try. But I suspect mine will be easy to figure out. Terence

 

I might suggest that some of our number will need to post something unlike what we always post. Those who always post gold might have a bronze and those who always have medievals might post a Greek. If I bought an aureus in EF, no one here would guess it to be mine. I hope all who volunteer at least understand that this is the Ancient section so a 21st century NCLT would not be appropriate.

My apologies for not replying earlier. I have been traveling today and haven’t had a chance to check the thread or my inbox. I believe we have well over the number of volunteers we need!
