    Here's a section that will be right up the streets of the members from all
    over the British Commonwealth.It is about the coins of King Edward VIII,not those fantasy medallic pieces that have come out since the 1954 Geoffrey Hearn series.

    I can think of King Edward VIII coins from the following countries;

    British West Africa (1/10d.,1/2d.,& 1d.).

    East Africa (5c. & 10c.).

    Great Britain (Brass 3d.) (Extremely Rare).

    & New Guinea (1d.)

    I have found out that a few of the Indian Princely States also issued coins bearing the name of King Edward VIII,but I cannot remember which ones.If you know which Indian Princely States issued King Edward VIII coins & their denominations,could you please leave a posting? Even better,you could also post photos.

    Are any of these common, inexpensive coins? I'd love to have one for a type set.

    India- Jodhpur- 1/4 anna, mohur
    India- Kutch- 3 dokda, 1 kori, 2 1/2 kori, 5 kori

    Interestingly, the coins of Jodhpur well into George VI's reign, and probably until independance in 1947 were still hammered!

    You can get all of these,except the brass 3d. from Great Britain.The brass 3d. was struck as a pattern coin to test the vending machines.They were all supposed to have been melted down,but 12 pieces escaped from the Royal Mint into
    circulation.Interestingly,the brass 3d. is dated 1937,not 1936.
