1957D zinc wheat penny?

    I have a 1957D wheat penny that appears to be zinc, not copper. I read sometime back that some pennies, other than 1943, were struck in zinc. I can't find that information now and am seeking help. Thanks. 1957D front.jpg 1957D rear.jpg

    Possibly coated in mercury. This was a "fun" past-time back then.

    Yes, quick silver was popular with kids back then. We had to use it on all kinds of stuff.
