Hello everyone. Could any of you give me a grade on this coin, and if it might have any value. Are these coins rare & hard to come by. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I would grade it VG.
The retail value in the latest issue of Canadian Coin News is $5.50 CDN

I don't know if it has been cleaned. It is actually a bit darker than the picture. I bought this on saturday at a rummage & craft sale where there was a old stamp collector who had some coins for sale. I paid $2 Canadian for it. When I look at it it looks like a nice condition coin, but I'm new at collecting and couldn't tell if it has been cleaned. Here is another picture without the flash.

Well, I took this coin to three different coin & currency shops, and they all told me that it has not been cleaned, and said in its condition it is worth $4 - $5.

A good example of how a picture can be misleading at times.

That- or the dealers themselves are trying to sell their cleaned coins, so they declare a cleaned coin "not cleaned".

Well,I have checked my Newfoundland Queen Victoria 1c. coins.Yes,I do have an 1873.I'd like to be able to find an 1872H,as it is in coin alignment as opposed to medal alignment on the other dates.
