If this isn't obvious I don't know what else is. What a scammer. Also notice is super high feedback rating of 96% http://cgi.ebay.com/1922-D-Lincoln-...yZ139803QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
He listed the coin as well as many others as VF, UNCLEANED and ORIGINAL. All three of which this coin is not! Look at some of his other auctions.
I'm thinking he can grade a bit better than he lets on. Most people that sell coins have SOME clue. I checked out this "power seller's" other crap too and it's just that. Saw a $3.95 coin with $7.95 shipping. That's just one example. Of course we all know there are many sellers like this out there. This guy is pretty damn blatant though IMHO. clembo
I didn't notice that....wow what a schmuck!!! Well I hope others take a look at this thread so they don't get burned. The Barber half is a very lovely VF shoot, Im not surprised that he didn't grade it AU.
Maybe he's retired and was once a former grader at SGS? :goof: Ribbit Ps: Please don't get retired and retarded mixed up with my statement, although they could be interchanged and the statement not change.
okay, in order of amazement: 1903 S 1/2 dollar (XF) that is a near VG. http://cgi.ebay.com/1903-S-Barber-H...ryZ11971QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem 1896 S 1/2 in VF that is a damaged AG: http://cgi.ebay.com/1896-S-Barber-H...ryZ11971QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem 1904 S 1/2 in XF, and it may go G-6: http://cgi.ebay.com/1904-S-Barber-H...ryZ11971QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem what a load of garbage.
Well, the feedback system will catch up with him. Stretching a grade a bit is normal on the Bay, but this is obnoxious. As long as you provide clear sharp and true to hand pics, the buyers should be able to see what they are bidding on.
With feedback like his, check Toolhaus, one at this point would have to hold the bidders on his garbage to some level of culpability for being undereducated about what they are bidding on.
Give the general public some credit....I don't see anybody bidding on the items that you folks have pointed out.
While the general public is ok, there will be some guy who pays way too much for these coins given some of the semi keys he has, let me rephrase.... very very crappy semi keys.
I applaud what many on this forum do, and that is, to expose scalawags such as this fellow. But it all seems to boil down to one thing....caveat emptor.
What's wrong with it? That's a Very Fouledup coin if I've ever seen one. (The forum filter rejected my first choice "F" word.)
If you read his entire thing he notes he just guessed at the grade and you should make your own guess sort of. It's near the end so he hopes not to noticed. Then again he does not state what VF means. You all must remember that VF is just letters and could mean anything. For instance VF=Very Foolish, VF=Vanila Finish and possibly others. As to feed back, that only takes lots of friends, neighbors and relatives to send good stuff in.
