Fire. Does that say 1950 something? If it is then don't toss as it is silver and worth more than 25 cents
It would really help if you could post clearer photos of both sides of the coin. Photos should be taken directly over the coin on a solid background. Crop the photo and click full size and not thumbnail. Thank you.
Here are better pics ive gotten a few from out of a fire. It looks like the copper showing. Probably from the fire melting off the first layer?
Some thoughts - if it had been a missing layer/clad, then the coin would weigh less than usual. Weight is generally a very good indicating diagnostic for a number of determinations (zinc vs copper, missing clad, counterfeit). This coin looks like a science experiment or damaged by heat.
