    Hello fellow coin peeps :D

I recently bought an 1864 Two Cent Piece. Can you please tell me if it is a Large or Small motto?

Not an expert, but to me it is large motto. Looks like there is no stem to the leaves. But please wait for an expert.

What gets me is that the D is not as slanted as much as a Large motto, but not as straight as a small one.

Sorry - but what D? I see nothing in the motto. It may just be my eyes and you do have the coin in hand. :)

The D in "GOD". That is also another way to tell if it is a small or large.

Have not heard that one, but will keep it in mind. So learned something new today.

Yeah, a slanted "D - Large Motto", a "Straight D - Small motto". So I would appreciate if anyone has some opinions to share :D

Judging from the only letter I can see, the 'S' and the E in we, that is a large motto. Large mottos of the 1864 2 cent piece are much more common, and are price over 100 dollars less. I actually picked one up myself recently.

Man - your eyes are better than mine. The only letter I think(notice I say think) is a T, but it would not be in the correct spot. Do I need to turn the lights out and squint? Just kidding. :)

I ALWAYS look at the D first. Large motto.

Rough coin and small pics but I am a 2 cent junkie.

agreed with all of the above observations.

I usually check for the T in trust.
If it is close to the ribbon (on the left) = Small Motto.
    Then check for the stem.

look at the T (in Trust) in relation to the ribbon in this link.
Also, as mentioned, the D in GOD.

The easiest way for me to tell, is that on a large motto, the D is larger than the O in GOD
