I can't tell I know 1970 looks like worn die but my S is further to the right and the liberty looks doubled to me and what about the 1973d is that an extra ear?
The 70 it appears to be a large date I believe the doubling your seeing is DDD. As far as the 73 it appears to me more of a die chip then a doubled ear.jmo
I'm not sure I understand what DDD is and are die chips anything, to get checked further or in the copper jar? (Any actual value to either) also the S seams further away to me if that's anything
Ddd ( die deterioration doubling) worthless I personally don't collect die chips but a lot of people do so it really depends on what you want to do if you like it keep it.
Go visit www.doubleddie.com and click on the tab marked "Worthless Doubling". It has a good explanation of Die Deterioration Doubling and Mechanical Doubling. If you are CRHing for errors, then knowing how to identify DDD and MD will save you a lot of time
DDD, MD, Hub Doubling and most other kinds of Doubling are all NAV or No Added Value Doubling. In other words, worthless doubling.
Thank y'all I really don't know what I'm searching for, I have tons of old coins I've had my grandparents left me when I was a kid, just going though them an been noticing that there all what I heard called key dates, and when I thought I'd went through them for any certain stuff I'd find out about another year and have to go back through them. So I apologise for my ignorance in any of the meanings to the abbreviations. I'm really learning as I go
