I came across a penny in my collection and wasn’t sure of its value or how rare it is. It’s a 1974 penny. One side is stamped with the Lincoln Memorial, and the other is stamped with Lincoln,s head as well as a faint stamp of the Lincoln Memorial again. I have come across several of the cents you are describing. It is a very cool die clash error. I have heard them called such things as, "Lincoln in jail", "Prison cents", "Lincoln behind bars", etc. They are rare but don't seem to bring much of a premium, I guess just not much collector interest. I have picked up some Very nice BU red examples with very strong clashing for less thgan $10 but that was a few years ago. Any updates?
