"AME" was taken bc i think that is slight doubling on the right leg of the M and outside of E

I think the doubling on the ME is machine doubling, and die were is causing the lettering to start to be drwn outaed to the rim. This in most moticable on the A and the top of the M.

Yes to a die chip and interesting how it pushed forward the bottom leg of the E. Never saw this one before.

Damage and machine doubling I'd venture to say is what would say here. I clould be wrong though. I was wrong twice. :)

Looks like a case of MD and a die chip.

    OK, this time...:D:p:joyful:

Seriously, nice catch on the die chip! I suspect the rest is just die deterioration...anytime you have a die chip, it's an indication that that die is in it's final stages of disintegrating. They did produce over 261 million '68 S cents, so...

Not to worry. The only time you will get razzed is by posting the same types of mostly problem coins over and over again without accepting many seasoned collectors opinions and then argue ad infinitum that you have something rare and we are all crooks, liars and jealous of what you have. Not speaking to you, but the biggest problem is anyone who wants our knowledge, does no research after we answer and provide useful links and then argues us to death. Our help & guidance is free but it has it's limitations after awhile. Happy collecting to you.

Thank you, I'm very new to the coin world so I know I have much to learn. Always happy to read up on item specific topics as they arise! I appreciate all the feedback! My inbox is always open, I'd love to get to know some of you more personally so I have a network of like minded folks for obvious reasons

We do tend to be evil, scurious, and unbending at times but we do love new members that ask pertinent questions.......:)

We're willing to help but when a number of members say what it is and we get nothing but arguments from the op we do get upset. Glad you're willing to learn and good to have you with us.

All I see is you still trying to sell that "skeleton face" cent on ebay and a whole bunch of other coins claiming to have doubled die and even triple die when in my opinion none of them are!

Learn what true doubling is before you try to sell garbage!
