It is the Bank Note of Republic of China printed by The Farmers Bank of China at 1940.Its par value is ten yuan. The images include front and rear.
Most of the information in the Pick catalog for China (these notes are listed under China, not Japan) was taken from the Smith/Matravers book on Chinese currency published in 1970. It is still the most extensive treatment of Chinese notes in English. Although the pricing is outdated, the information contained in it is pretty thorough. While the listings were carried forward to the Pick catalogs, most of the information in the text was left out. The latest Chinese references list the Amoy Industrial Bank as one of the Japanese Puppet Banks. It has always been listed in the Specialized Edition of Pick (Vol. I) under the provincial banks. With the way the Pick catalogs are edited, it may be a few years before this gets changed. The next edition of World War Two Remembered will have the listings for the Amoy Industrial Bank as a Puppet Bank.
I have to give my admire to lettow!! You are so well-read about Chinese vintage bank note! I didn't read the Smith/Matravers book.Does it have electronic version?
I do not know of an electronic version of Smith/Matravers. It has been out of print for over 25 years and is difficult to find even in the US.
