ABONCOM Feedback DEFAMATION

To a recent buyer, ABONCOM gave this Negative response:

TOUGH NEW ROOKIE GIRL! SUGGEST ALL AVOID! POWER SELLER BLOCKED! DANGER

    To this Negative received:

missing and misrepresented coins! policy prevents return or exchange

On the buyer's feedback this is their response to the Negative:

"a childish defamation of charactor ! 50 yrs.of collecting and my first neg.given"

I wonder why E-bay allows this feedback nonsense to continue by ABONCOM?

I have watched ABONCOM's responses to the Negatives they receive and it is apparent that ABONCOM loves to use the description of "GIRL" in many of their retaliatory feedback responses.

Does ABONCOM have a problem with women? I believe that they know that their buyers are men (boys) when they use the word "GIRL" when they leave their feedback.

They used similar feedback for me when I left them negative feedback (5/05).

ROOKIE! WANT NEGATIVES THEN TRY THIS GIRL. SUGGEST ALL BLOCK!

However in my response I wrote:

Girl? Your BAD grading and eyesight here sptokens.com/sgs.htm

I find it interesting that my feedback response has NEVER been removed as it contains a web address.

What I find more interesting is that ABONCOM believes that using the word "GIRL" in their replies to Negatives somehow relates to a demeaning connotation! Most e-bay'ers wouldn't know what gender the e-bay'er is unless they've had some interaction.

I didn't complain to e-bay regarding ABONCOM's response to my negative. I wonder if this recent buyer will?

It would be nice if e-bay would not allow gender placed in their statements, by only allowing the word seller or buyer instead.

I am watching for the first class action lawsuit against ABONCOM for gender defamation.:)

This is one case for sure, that makes the new feedback system makes sense. These crooked sellers won't be able to leave negs for buyers that get taken.

I believe that ABONCOM while only leaving a positive will still be able to leave these same similar negatively written responses.

Or they will just not leave any feedback. (Much better for the buyer)

On my last five purchases on e-bay, I did NOT receive any seller feedback nor have I left any for the seller's. I did receive two e-mails asking me to leave Positive feedback and they would do the same. NOPE not me.

I'll be watching how this new feedback system goes... My feedback number increased by 2 from my OLD Silver Strike buying/selling days.

Back to the original post. The buyer should have waited 1 more day before leaving that Negative. There would have been NO retaliatory Negative, but the retaliatory statement could have still been made with a Positive.

What does "POWER SELLER BLOCKED!" in aboncom's feedback mean? Does he have the ability to block that buyer from bidding on any item offered by power sellers, or it it just the typical aboncom crap?

Are the new feedback rules in effect? I sure do not see alot of negs to ABON yet. Just lots and lots of positives from buyers who bought perfect unc coins

Here's another one that seems typical for ABONCOM:

Buyer leaves him negative feedback on 4/21 and ABONCOM responds:

"This is not an understanding Ebayer. FAST NEGATIVE and now BLOCKED! USE CARE!"

On 4/22 ABONCOM leaves the same buyer the following feedback:

    "Fantastic Bidder A+++"

"Pleasure to do business with - Great Customer"

    Amazing:
The buyer should call them a girl!

[sorry, ladies, they said it first.
Apparently they think that it is an insult.]

Being blocked as a bidder by Abon would seem like a gift to me.

A seller with the quantity of Abon uses an auto feedback reply, a NEG gets a neg, and a POS will get a POS.

These feedbacks are entered into seller preferances and givin out only in relation to pos/neg.....however, they choose the " canned " feedback when they set up the preferance and are allowed to rotate up to 5 negs and 5 pos

    I manually leave feedback myself

He only has the ability to block people from bidding on his own auctions. Possibly he's implying other power sellers block that seller too but I doubt others would follow his advice, if they even knew about it.

It's pretty clear that they use an auto-reply system... as you pointed out, one that automatically leaces positives in reaction to a positive and negatives in reaction to a negaitve... you'll notice the responses are always canned. It's really obvious with the negatives because you'll notice the negative responses almost never seem to adress what was actually in the negative they got left... often the repsonse makes no logical sense in the context of what it's supposedly a response too.

With the volume of business they do it's obvious that can't possibly personally respond to each transaction. An automatic positive in response to a positive makes sense. However, an automatic negative in response to a negative suggests an unwillingness to deal with legitimate complainsts, or even recognize that there is such thing as a legitimate complaint; it assumes that any complaint reflected by a negative feedback has no merit. That if nothing else shows poor customer service if not downright dishonesty.

And there's your evidence that they're clearly just autoreplying... using a system that gives positives for positives, negatives for negatives. You'd think they'd try to be more subtle... I guess either they just don't care or assume nobody else will care or notice. That speaks volumes about their attitute towards customer service.

Reading all this makes me really glad I never use ebay. Did only once and BBE or Bad Buying Experience. No more and don't have to worry about all that feed back stuff.

I rarely buy on Ebay myself Carl. I do sell on occasion. I am right now actually.

Reallly looking, asking questions and knowing your coins can mean a lot. Just as in the "real world". Abon just happens to be one of, if not, the biggest rip off artist in coins. Informed people know this.
