Oh man I wish I knew you 25 years ago. I had a 67 cutless convertable project that had a bad frame and bought a chevelle frame that would fit off my high school shop teacher and flipped The Wole deal to someone for $600 I had $200 in all it but had several other car projects including my 63 corvair spyder and my 85 Chevy 4x4 that were both on the road and driving at the time

Fantastic, and worth quite a bit of change nowadays, I imagine.

The 1967-72 muscle car era is my favorite.

    Okay I will play.

First I will show my baby. A 1988 Chevy Corvette. I inherited her from my father. When he got her he always told me jokingly that I could drive it on the day that he dies and not before. How true this turned out to be. The day my dad died my mother handed me the keys to the Vette and said "Its yours now". It took me 8 months before I could go into the garage and start her up. Now my wife and I enjoy her on good weather weekends. Now my son will have to wait until I pass to drive her. Vette.jpg

As for my most favorite of Classic cars. There are soooo many I would love to have, but the Austin Healy 3000 1959-1967 has got to be on the top of the list. A beautiful British sports car with some gorgeous curves. I know they aren't the most reliable but hey what original classic car is nowadays Healy.jpg

AS for a numismatic fact for 1959. Well 1959 was the 50th anniversary of the Lincoln cent and was the first year of the Lincoln Memorial Cent. Here is a RPM from that year. This one kinda slaps you in the face and was the only reason my bad eyes could see it when searching a roll of Lincoln cents. 1959D002.jpg

Thanks for the contest. Love all the cars. Coins and cars my 2 favorite subjects.

Mistake in that last post. Midnight Tuesday night is the deadline for entries. Somebody needs to go to calendar reading school!

Awesome. You'd better have a dog who looks just like Scooby.

I predict that vehicle might be popular with our contest judge, considering his age demographic.

I know i missed the deadline and that's ok, I just wanted to post the old photo of my first car, a 1964 Chevrolet Impala, known as "La Bamba". This photo was taken in 1978 and I paid a whole $435 for this car. Yeah, I know, it's not very shiny, but it's my favorite car of all time.

Just throwing this in for good measure.

Fast forward 40 years and this is the car parked in the garage. It doesn't have a name, though...

And this car was definitely not $435!

I really liked this car and really wanted either one like it or an MG TC. I'll name this one No. 6 (any idea why?). 1966 Lotus Super Seven.

Oh, in 1966 the United States finished making the 1964 Kennedy half-dollars (whew were those dies tired).

Wow, I did not know that. So they were striking 90% silver 1964 halves still, at the same time they were producing 40% silver 1966 business strikes for circulation? Interesting.

Didn’t Jim Clark wear the number 6 on his Indy Lotus?

Here is my 1962 Chevrolet Corvair Greenbrier 9 passenger van. "Blue" is my 17th Corvair over the last 30 years, and I've had her for 8 years. Powered by a 164 cubic inch horizontally opposed air cooled 6 cylinder, the engine is rated at 95 hp. and mated to a 4 speed manual transmission with a positraction 3.27:1 differential. I have 2 other Corvair Greenbriers, but "Blue" is the prettiest and best running, by far. Swope.jpg
As for the coin part, here is my 1836 half dollar I found on my property while digging a flower garden. It had the hole in it already, and had seen a fair amount of wear. It has the lettering on the edge, and isn't reeded, like modern halves are.
