Search on billzach users name and you can see lots of examples of his work. At least I think the pictures might still be attached. Another good one!! I find these amazing.
I have always wondered, are these still legal tender? And I thought it was illegal to mess around with currency?
I'm not a lawyer but I did find this: http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/casecode/uscodes/18/parts/i/chapters/17/sections/section_331.html Should make for good debate.
Your work is always a master piece and truly a work of art. Great job with this Hobo piece. Beautiful simply beautiful Bill. As always thanks for sharing!! Allen
The key word in the law is -fraudulently-..A friend of mine who also recarves coins, recarved a wheat cent for President Bush as a gift , everything had to be checked out to make sure it was a legal, it was...Ebay, coin auctions, coin shops etc. all have checked and it,s legal..[ps] Also think about all those penny pressing machines that have been around for 50 plus years and the people who cut out mercury dimes for jewelry, it,s all legal as long as you don,t try to defraud someone..
Had a feeling the operative word was fraudulently Billzach. Again, you do marvelous work. It is sheer artistry.
art or not I think what they are referring to is the changing of a coin for fraud , like changing a date , or taking silver or gold off of a coin , lightining , not carving a coin with no intent to defraud . Life with out the arts would not be as rich or colorful . :loud: rzage
Bill - Great work... as usual! I always enjoy your pieces and always look forward to seeing new ones. Thanks!
