Hi I recently purchased a 1857 flying eagle cent I found interesting because it has a reverse clash mark and also a curious tail on U in United. See photos. I have read a little on the series but I may just need another opinion. I was reading Rick Snow regular Indian cent book but not the expensive specialists one. And in thishe talks about multi denominational clashed dies Snow 7,8,9 which I found an interesting read. I just wanted to know if the tail in United is a die crack or a clash mark? Thanks Jon
Can you take the coin out of the flip and take closer pictures? Take your pictures directly over the coin, not at an angle. It takes a little practice.
