What's this called

    I found a 82 P penny that has a raised area just inside the rim that goes about a third of the way around. I was wondering what that's called and if it's anything?

    I believe it's a form of die deterioration. @paddyman98 can tell you.

    Yes to Ridge Ring. Die Deterioration strike.
    It's never a bother to me. Unless it's a variety question because I'm not interested in Doubling nor WAM or CAM issues.
