Since starting collecting coins I've been wanting a coin cabinet so when I saw 1 come up in DNW's last auction I sent a bid in and won Its the Phoen made by Peter Nichols. It has 3 draws missing which is perfect because I'm going to order 3 for larger coins as the coin slots are about 26mm (my gordian III only just fits, he needs a bigger home) Has a few slight marks on the top but nothing major, complete with all the felts and working lock & key, for the price I got it for it was a steal. How much they cost brand new Mine
That's a beautiful cabinet I've been checking out the website of a US based coin cabinet maker. For $350 I could have a cabinet with more than enough room to accommodate a collection of 250+ coins (which given my 200 limit is definitely more than sufficient for me.) Given that my biggest coin is 32mm, I think a universal size of 35mm should be sufficient for me.
Would still love to have my collection in one, but it's grown a bit large & I live in a small place. But at least I can enjoy other peoples coins/cabinets in pics.
