It's an attractive coin, but as a 64RB it looks low-end.

Personally, I believe ANACS' standards are looser these days. That's just my opinion.

I agree with their grade and would price around $725. The coin has attractive clean surfaces and is solid for the grade.

I have upgraded a few of the old Anacs Holder coins at NGC and PCGS.

That 1818 is one I would want for all the amazing die cracks. The little bit of red remaining would be a bonus as far as I'm concerned. I'd definitely pay a little more for that than a generic BN one.

Yes, those were exactly my thoughts as well. It has all the hallmarks of a coin from the Randall Hoard. Most Mint State survivors in the 1818-20 dates (I think it was) are from that hoard. The circular die crack is fun.

Die cracks. :) If you look carefully, there are actually 3 die cracks that go through the obverse stars: one from 9:00-1:00, one through the stars and date from about 2:00-6:30, and another one through the star immediately through the date.

Ah, yes. Plural. I tend to look at them as a big circle, almost.

That's what I thought the first time I saw this variety. I think it's a mid/late die state of N-10. I have one on my eBay watchlist right now that's a bit later die state, with more progression on the cracks.

I think the huge gashes on the Indian keep it from 64, and I think it has mellowed enough that I can't see it getting RB again.

I'd call this one an attractive 63 BN, but you can find better 63's without such prominent face scratches.
