How do you recognize if a coin that has been clipped was done in minting process or in fact is a PMD? Example:
Good question.. Left Cent is obvious damage. It should be the same shaped curve as the coin in question. Right Cent has the Blakesley Effect opposite the clip. Thats weakening during the strike due to the missing area. Put a Cent into that curve and you will see it fits in perfectly.
