Hello, I have a ancient coin, I can not identify, It is 1.4 grams, 12mm, metal? I appreciate all help. New to coin talk
I know next to nothing about Indian coins but to my unpracticed eye it looks more Indian than Islamic/Arabic. More folks will chime in and be able to offer more useful opinions, I'm sure.
Thanks, I have been through thousands of pictures can not locate one even similar? they could make this sight easier to use? I reckon it takes practice?
I am not an expert on these. So i do not know what the standard reference works for the Ottoman copper coinage are. There are a gazillion different types of these unfortunately. Many can be found on Zeno. Quick search: https://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=216802
Great spot. I hardly ever saw Ottoman coppers, and there are, as you say, many varieties. I recall Cuneyt Olcer worked on them long since and published this: Nakish Osmanli Mangirlari / The Ornamental Copper Coinage of the Ottoman Empire. Album mentions more recent works by Kabaklari "Mangir" - but I never saw copies Rob T PS - given the pic - and info - I thought it was silver!
