FOrgive this absolutely stupid question, but how on earth do you open an airtite coin holder? I got a coin today that came in one, the foams a bit out of alignment and it's buggin me, can't seem to pry it open. Please help, I won't be able to rest until I can fix the foam thingy! Chris
Hi Chris, What seems to work for me is to use a small kitchen knife. I get it in between the 2 halves and twist it a bit to get it started. Then open it the rest of the way by hand over a soft cloth...just in case. Good luck!
I had to brake a Air-tight once because the coin just would not come out....don't worry...it didn't hurt the coin Speedy
If you look closely around the seam you will see a small slot to start the prying. Very difficult to see, but it is there.
I use an Exacto blade. It's not hard, you just go around the rim and progressively pry the two halves open a tiny amount at a time. Do you do need to be careful, though: 1) Don't cut yourself or anyone around you; and 2) don't scratch the coin. Actually, I find it harder and riskier to open a stapled 2x2. My tiny screwdriver I was using to pry up the staples slipped one time and scratched a coin. Guess I should get a good staple puller.
