WHAT CAUSED THIS?

    What do you think caused this? A buffer? Mint error? If it was say, a buffer, they did a good job cause the outer lining appears to be untouched. Sometimes it does look like the two missing numbers are slightly visible but do not appear to be in alignment. Sorry some pictures do not look copper, that's my microscope acting up.

    The lack of detail looks like a grease or a debris filled Die. It is also a MAD and it looks like it's covered in linear plating blisters.
