Came across a dozen of these interesting Madison $ in a new roll.Pictures here for your enjoyment. Madison's rt. eye/ with eyeball out of socket.

And die polish lines below his curls on rt. side.

Die drack marker on his lower lip,

    And at base of bust.

The wierd stuff below his eye would be on the higher part of the die, pointing to abraision or damadged die. Might be a piece of a die cap that still clings. The has been polished so the possiubility of die damage there. What do you think, Variety or error or ??

Its not the camera. I haven't mastered managing the photo size yet. i take the pics thru a microscope. But hey, thanks for the enthusiam. If it takes you a long time to load photos, Ive got a spare Dell that you can have.

The features around te eye appear raised so i would think a damaged ot chipped die. Possibly from clashing. They may try an polis them out and create those flat blank areas you sometimes see around the eyes on the recent dollars.

The area at the base of the bust shows a die crack running along the base. Cracks like that are not that unusual.
