Whats your opinion on this? It appears to have extra copper pressed into the left wheat stalk. Looking at it from an angle I can see under the little piece of metal there. What would the value be on this?
Looks like an embedded strike through error - they're tough to find :thumb: No idea on the value, because of the rarity of the error it may be hard to even guess.
Yes, it's quite unique and a nice find. Aside from all that, the reverse looks very nice. Got an obverse photo? Bruce
Whoa, sweeet! Nice coin! :thumb: :thumb: I agree, looks like a strike through or a lamination of sorts, not sure on value either. But still pretty cool! :thumb: Phoenix
It looks like a lamination to me. It happens when something gets trapped in the strip of metal the coins are made of as they are rolled to the proper thickness. It's probably worth about $4 or $5
Hi WaMike75, Neat coin. Not only is it a 'strike through', maybe 'planchet error', but it has a great luster and color. Is this a bu Lincoln? jeankay
Yup, it is BU. The super size pictures really show all the flaws even a 16 power glass wouldnt lol. I was going through rolls looking for S/S/S varieties and whatnot and came accross this one. Pretty neat.
