Does anyone know a site where I can look up serial numbers? I found a dollar bill with a repeating serial number and want to check the see if it's worth more than a dollar before I spend it. Thanks for any help I can get.
It said only 10% has a combination like it but it didn't tell me if it's worth anything. Any other sites anyone can think of would help. Thanks for the advice. Oh the serial number is 60226220 and it's a 2013 one dollar bill.
That's an "almost" serial #. It looks like something, but it just misses because some of the digits are slightly out of order.
Unless you transposed or otherwise miss-typed the number, that SN itself will mean nothing to a collector. Spend it (or, if it looks good to you, keep it - it's only $1).
You're welcome but the digits you mentioned are nothing special in that order. Shuffle them around s bit and you'll have a fancy number. Like 60226022, a four digit repeater or 60222206, a radar note.
Sorry by the response looks like I wasted everyone's time because it was typed correctly. I'm new to coins and even newer when it comes to paper money (other than watching for star notes). As for pictures because of complaints of poor picture quality I posted in other threads I have to wait till I can afford a better USB camera. Thanks everyone for the help and advice you're all great and I think cointalk is awesome.
The photos were fine and you're not wasting our time. We are here to help and it sounds like you got excited when you saw the numbers. You've learned from this so that is not wasting my time.
I did learn something and I feel better knowing that you don't think I'm wasting your time and I do appreciate all the help and I admit because I'm new I'm definitely going to need more help in the future. Hopefully I won't end up wearing your patience thin. Have a great day everyone.
