I have an Australian Mate of mine looking to purchase a fifty cent and a one dollar planchet.

Do such things exist? I would think they are rare?

If they exist, Where would I proceed to seek them out?

what price range might they be in?

I have searched our forum post and could not find any leads.
    Hope you can help.
    Thankx

Some blanks do get out of the mint, however they are generaly penny, nickel or dime planchets. Ive never seen a half or dollar planchet. good luck, let me know if you find any.

Well...I found a quarter planchet once...should have kept it but sold it for a total of $4.00---
I'm looking at a Silver Dollar planchet but not sure if it's real....
I would search e-bay and if you can't find them ask your dealer as most dealer have at least one customer collecting odd things like this...

There are a few error coin dealers that usually have these in stock. Keep an eye on Ebay auctions, too. The type 2 Ike dollar planchets can go for over $100, Sac and SBA $1 planchets even more. I don't recall seeing many half dollar planchets, though.
