Would you guys say these two are in about the same grade? (one is mine, you can guess which. The reverse looks a little spotty on the pic, it is not). Thanks!
Ditto. I see the first coin as a tiny bit higher grade technically, say 40-45-ish, while the second I'd call more 35-40-ish, but I like the eye appeal of the second coin a bit more. They both look XF-ish to me. The first solidly so, and maybe on the higher end of it, while the second is on the lower end of it, but just in terms of technical detail. They're both nice, of course.
I see the first one as a slightly higher grade. Something like VF-35 vs. VF-30 or XF-40+ vs. XF-40. (Yeh, I know. There's no such thing as a "+" grade for XF. But I suspect someone may prove me wrong.)
I’d grade the first dime XF40 and the second VF30/35. Just wondering if yours is a scarce variety? Why did Mike say the second may have a higher value? Please let us in in your secret
Sharpness grade of the first one is a little higher on the first one, but I'd rather have the second one, better eye appeal to me.
The obverse of both look the same but the reverse of the first is better than the second. VF 35 on both. I'd say the bottom one belongs to Eduard because he mentions the reverse looks a little spotty but it's not. He would know if he had the coin. The bottom has better eye appeal.
Thanks, everybody for your opinions. The first coin is graded EF40. The second one is my example and only carries the 'Eduard Seal of Raw Coin Approval'. I think I would agree the slabbed coin has a bit better details than mine.
