I was offered this silver coin to buy. It looks rare to me, but the condition is below average. Besides, I can't identify the Emperor on obverse nor even the Dynasty to which he may belong. Please post any guess if you have? Thanks.

Sasanian AR Drachm with the altar/attendants reverse. The portrait of the king will lead you to the proper identification.

It’s a Shapur I drachm, crown with earflaps. 241-272. Also spelled Sapur. Look into VCoins. What’s the weight?

It's a silver drachm of Shapur I. Fairly scarce and in very high demand because he caused such a headache for the Roman's, and also because he employed the best celatores to ever work under the Sassanians.

The coin itself is quite beat up and IMO I would only buy it at a steep discount; something on the order of $30-40 would be fair. They can be bought relatively problem free for $100-150.

There’s a lot of VF drachms of Shapur I on the market, in fact you rarely see them worn.

As others have stated, Shapur I, looks genuine but rather low-grade for these. Not a rare coin (nice problem-free examples are almost always available) so I personally would pass.

Thanks very much for your kind replies. I don't have the weight, just the picture. So many are being offered here nowadays, of every kind. Money is becoming scarce, rather than coins themselves.
