Okay, no one should complain anymore about all the change they have to carry around after seeing that thing. That wouldn't fit in my safe unfortunatly.

That article a little over a year old so another coin or two could have been sold (although the price probably increased substantially with the run up in gold).

 

And to think, I have trouble finding a vending machine to take dollar coins!!

 

I believe the coins were engraved rather than struck.
