Meow has been CRH a bunch of pennies put away in the nineties. Meow found 1994d penny with a very small die chip. Meow has searched about 800 rolls of pennies so far, and has never before found a die chip in a nineties penny. As the mint seems to have made pennies in that area well. If this penny was made in the fifties, it would be quite common.

Also, this might be a bit of a stretch. But Meow found a 1982d penny with a D shaped mark under the 8. Meow thinks it just might be a RPM. There are documented stray mintmarks on Wexler that are upside down and or under the date. Its a longshot this is legit.

Hi Meow, I see the die chip on the 1994. Yes, it is tiny.

On the '82, I can't be sure but it looks to me like it has DDD that got so bad, the die of the 8 laid down a spread on both sides of the number.

I'm not an expert or a specialist so please wait for more opinions.

Meow thinks it might be DDD too. But since only the 8 seems affected, makes Meow wishfully think its a RPM.

Have you guys noticed 90s pennies are pretty well made. Errors on them are scarce. Well, at least from this Cats experience.

Well anyway. At least Meow did not ask if it was small date or large date. Those posts about those thinking they hit it big with the 1982d are getting old.

Look for the 1998 AM variety. It's there to be found, although I would not call it an error, per se. The Red Book lists varieties and errors in the '90's.
