If you're guessing on the 3c piece, that one was already revealed as $353 Edit: if you meant the 1921 Morgan from the first page, that one sold for $1,677.50 and is now part of the Aurora Borealis Collection (top toned Morgan collection).
Okay... I'll throw one in to help keep the thread active. This time, instead of providing pics, I'll "describe" the toning colors and patterns for you. Okay, here we go.... Lol. Maybe not. Here we have a 1986 PCGS MS68 ASE. First year of issue. Sold this year. PCGS guide price is $35.00 What was the actual sale price ??? (Not my coin) I will post the answer sometime tomorrow afternoon (Sun) if I can remember anyway.
$325 (and maybe even higher). I agree with @Lehigh96 that it's QC. That doesn't seem to matter a ton though with toned Silver Eagles as of the past few years. As long as the slab has a straight grade, the prices can get crazy.
Yeah, I was looking for seated, bust, or even trade dollars, when a couple monstrosities like this popped up. I went with one of them knowing full well it was at minimum, QC, if not blatant AT as is evident from the comments thus far. Man, there are more heavily toned SAEs than the other 3 types combined, and they are at least a century older. The new generation of collectors either don't know, or don't care about how the toning happened, as long as the description reads L@@K, MONSTER TONED, MS+++++++++ I guess. (I know that blast white used to be what was popular, and why many older coins have been dipped at some point.)
I agree this is AT all the way and should have sold for melt, but I'm guessing $200... because the label says MS68.
Ummm, that's "alleged" AT Crap. This thread was dormant for awhile, perhaps this eyesore will help motivate efforts to post more desirable coins here, or any at all.
