1951D Lincoln DDD, MD?

    Not sure if pics show how strange the strike or imprint is and I apologize. The 5 in date shows it the most and any help is appreciated.

    Imo it appears to be DDD.

    Looks like the Tip on the end of the 5's top bar broke off. The coin gas circulation issues. Not a Mint error.

    Thanks for the information Handyman and Collecting Nut as to the possible causes. The look is almost as blisters seen on the zinc Lincoln's and first time I heard of coin gas circulation so my education continues to expand.:bookworm:

    My fat fingers hit the g instead of the h so gas should read has. Lol
